Hill extends Women into Construction partnership

<p>Hill has extended its Women into Construction programme following a successful 18 months and the scheme winning Best training or recruitment initiative at the Housebuilder Awards 2020.</p> <p><span>The housebuilder’s platinum partnership with the not-for-profit organisation Women into Construction will continue for another 18 months, operating within Hill’s Cambridgeshire region. The partnership has helped hundreds of women access construction career advice and guidance, Hill explained.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>Hill added that 41 local women had registered directly onto the programme for construction related training, with most participants progressing onto work placements and Women into Construction offering remote mentorship.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>The two companies have also worked together to undertake group-wide mandatory diversity and inclusion training for Hill’s more than 650 employees.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>Women into Construction offers bespoke support to women wishing to enter the construction industry, working with housebuilders and contractors to reduce the skills shortage and create a more gender balanced workforce, featuring “highly motivated, trained women”.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>Tom Hill, the Hill group’s regional and main board director, said: “I have been so impressed with the success of our Women into Construction programme as well as the calibre of candidates we have been able to help into the industry.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>“Construction has historically been very male dominated and …
