Hill appoints head of sustainability

<p><span>Hill Group has recruited Brendan Ritchie as its head of sustainability, a role the business has recently created to drive its environmental, social, governance (ESG) agenda. </span><span></span></p> <p><span>With his experience of more than 30 years in the sustainability and housebuilding sectors, Ritchie will help set clear ESG targets and publicly report on the group’s performance. Hill said that his presence would bolster the company’s priorities on social purpose and energy efficiency standards to help tackle climate change, which also includes increased use of modern methods of construction (MMC). </span><span></span></p> <p><span>The group has built a reputation for building low carbon, sustainable homes, with examples including Agar Grove in Camden, reportedly the UK’s largest Passivhaus regeneration project, and Hill's recently announced joint venture partnership with Bioregional Homes to produce low carbon and affordable homes. </span><span></span></p> <p><span>Ritchie previously spent 22 years at Willmott Dixon; his last role was md of its specialist division advising on environmental governance and sustainable development.
