Hill aims for top ten

The Hill Group has set out plans to become a top ten UK housebuilder by 2016, seeking to deliver 2,725 new homes a year of which 30% will be for the firm's private sector arm Hill Residential. The firm is looking to deliver turnover of £450 million and profit of around £30 million in four years time. The group is looking to grow its private residential arm having focused on social housing since its formation in 1999. It is now seeking to grow its presence in the south east and develop its landbank for appropriate sites, focusing on "affluent areas" for Hill Residential's schemes.<br> <br> "The current climate is very challenging with a competitive market for social housing contracts," said group ceo Andy Hill. "I believe these plans will ensure Hill is well positioned to maximise opportunities as a developer of top quality homes."<br>
