Heat pump and solar thermal integration achieves level four

Nu-Heat has designed a communal renewable system for a block of affordable housing apartments, combining an air source heat pump and eight-panel solar battery feeding into a plant room buffer vessel. <br> <br> Nu-Heat’s design included sizing apartment radiators to cope with a flow temperature of 45°C and supplying high gain domestic hot water cylinders capable of extracting the maximum energy from the lower hot water temperature produced from the heat pump systems.<br> <br> The energy supply to each apartment is metered, and Nu-Heat also incorporated a building management system to ensure smooth running of the system and allow for remote billing. <br> <br>
