HBF/HBSP launch Home Builders Visitor Card

<p><span>The Home Builders Federation and the Home Building Skills Partnership have today (December 11) launched their Home Builders Visitor Card.</span><br/></p> <p><span>The card, primarily available digitally, will replace the Construction Skills Certification Scheme’s (CSCS) Construction Site Visitor Card, due to be discontinued next year. The virtual format of this new card means that more information can be added securely to it over time.</span></p> <p><span>HBSP’s card was devised after the industry expressed concern over the CSCS’ decision to withdraw its Visitor Card, with a number of employees reliant on the card to gain access to sites, HBF explained.</span></p> <p><span>“In response the Skills Partnership has been working closely with the industry to develop a replacement that is more specific to their particular requirements. Applicants for the card will need to have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test,” HBF added.</span></p> <p><span>HBF and HBSP said they were “strongly encouraging” take up of the digital card via an accompanying app “as this will allow for increased functionality to meet future needs.” HBF explained that the card, which will cost £30 plus VAT, was a more cost effective and environmentally friendly option to a plastic offering.</span></p> <p><span>HBSP plans in future phases to capture the cardholder’s …
