HBF/Etive devise improved identity checks scheme

<br/> <p>The Home Builders Federation has worked with Etive Technologies to develop a verification scheme to improve identity checks when buying and selling property, while aiding compliance with government regulations.</p> <p>At present, during the buying and selling journey, customers must repeatedly provide the same information to prove their identity and confirm personal details. “This leads to a frustrating user experience and duplicated effort and costs across the industry, with organisations paying to carry out the same checks on the same consumers,” HBF and Etive said.</p> <p>The companies’ MyIdentity scheme allows customers to undertake digital identity and anti-money laundering checks and share them with organisations when necessary. This allows checks to be carried out at the start of the buying/selling process, “reducing customer friction and duplication of effort”.</p> <p>The companies said the verification scheme in development supported compliance with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/uk-digital-identity-and-attributes-trust-framework-beta-version"><span>Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework</span></a><span>. </span>This was<span> </span>introduced in 2021 to improve the experience of identity and information checks and make them more secure.
