With planning reform, changes to building safety and other challenges to overcome, the Home Builders Federation’s Policy Conference is the event to attend this month to help make sense of all that is currently happening with the housebuilding industry.
Government chief planner Joanna Averley is set to speak at the conference in London on March 27, just three months after the publication of the new National Planning Policy Framework.
Speakers also include Homes England interim chief executive Eamonn Boylan, who will look at the organisation’s vital role in working with the industry to help deliver the government’s target of 1.5 million new homes.
New Towns Taskforce chair Sir Michael Lyons also joins the speaker line-up. This follows the government’s announcement in February that the Taskforce had received more than 100 proposals for its New Towns programme.
Mark Farmer, co-founder of construction consultant Cast, will provide his expert opinion on innovation and change across the industry. He will also discuss the findings of his recent ITB review which examined the Construction and Engineering Construction Industry Training Boards and called for a fundamental reset of the ITB model.
