The Home Builders Federation has launched a call for members’ views on planning as the general election draws closer.
The call for views on planning is an opportunity for HBF members to communicate the changes the next government should make to planning policy and the planning process to help the industry. It asks for views on:
- National and local planning policy, including the National Planning Policy Framework, green belt, the standard method for assessing housing need and the lack of registered provider (RP) bids for section 106 units
- Development management, including statutory consultees
- Local planning authority funding
- Policies to support SMEs
- Older people’s housing
HBF will use companies’ views to form its “manifesto” and key asks of the political parties ahead of the general election on July 4. It is also working on detailed and practical policy proposals to present to the next government once it is formed.
This consultation on planning follows HBF’s call for views on devolution published on May 10 and other calls for views on home ownership, developer contributions and skills released earlier this year.
