HBF and Etive launch new customer identity verification standards

<p><span>The Home Builders Federation and Etive have announced the launch of new customer identity verification standards, meaning that customers will only need to prove their identity once in the home buying process. </span><span> </span><span></span></p> <p><span>Following a three-month consultation undertaken by digital data management solutions company Etive, the two organisations have published the verification standards for new home sales and anti-money laundering (AML) checks. These, they said, would improve the customer experience while aligning with emerging government legislation and standards. </span><span> </span></p> <p><span>The new process aims to remove the need for a customer to prove their ID separately to various parties during the home buying process and upload different information onto different systems. Having to show ID only once would reduce costs, delays “and the risk of errors in the process,” HBF and Etive said. </span><span> </span></p> <p><span>Etive’s consultation survey generated responses from 84 HBF members, with housebuilders of different sizes </span><span>across the membership groups also interviewed in-depth in order to “delve deeply into the required standards, processes and procedures to help all new home builders comply with their regulatory obligations”. </span><span> </span></p> <p><span>These undertakings have produced two new standards which, according to HBF and Etive, “go over and above” the …
