Greg Clark has been appointed secretary of state for levelling up, housing and communities, replacing Michael Gove who was sacked last night.
Clark is part of a cabinet being appointed by outgoing prime minister Boris Johnson who resigned as party leader this morning following a wave of ministerial resignations.
Clark has been MP for Tunbridge Wells since 2005 and has held numerous government posts including most recently as secretary of state for business, energy and industrial strategy. He is well known to the housebuilding sector as he was secretary of state for communities and local government from May 2015 to July 2016.
