Greenwich is go - development deal signed for peninsula

The haze surrounding the future of the Greenwich Peninsula has today been cleared by the signing of a deal between English Partnerships and private developers that will see the area transformed into a community of 10,000 new homes – over a third of which will be affordable. Meridian Delta Ltd - a partnership between Lend Lease & Quintain Estates and Development plc – will lead the project along with Anschutz Entertainment Group and Greenwich Council. £4 billion in private funding has been committed, and the site will incorporate new schools, nursery and health provision, transport improvements and support for local employment and training. The Dome will be developed into an entertainment and sports arena with seating for 20,000.
