Graham Cherry is set to become Stonebond’s new chief executive officer from September.
Stonebond, a partnerships SME housebuilder, headquartered in Essex and owned by the Cherry family, has announced that current ceo Andrew Cornelius is leaving his post to be closer to home and spend more time with his young family, following a transitional period over the summer.
Cherry’s brother Richard Cherry will continue his role as executive chair. Graham Cherry is currently the company’s co-chair.
Cornelius joined Stonebond in 2019, becoming ceo in 2021. He has worked closely with the Cherry brothers to move the housebuilder into partnerships, working with local authorities, housing providers and Private Rented Sector investors to create mixed-tenure communities.
Cornelius said: “I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with Graham and Richard for the past 10 years, latterly as chief executive of Stonebond, overseeing an operational shift to partnerships-led housebuilding which has seen the business grow significantly from c.£20 million of revenue in 2019 to an expected level of over £150 million this year.
