Government updates Code for Sustainable Homes

The government has published its update to the Code for Sustainable Homes. <br> <br> As proposed in the consultation on the Code released at the end of 2009, the government will align the Code with updated Building Regulations. CLG said that it would “strongly incentivise” the introduction of fabric efficiency standards, and that the Code would reflect future goals for zero carbon homes. <br> <br> The Code is being streamlined to remove regulatory duplications or unnecessary standards, such as Lifetime Homes standards in steeply sloping sites. <br> <br> The new Code will also resolve difficulties arising from its use, for example, clarifying standards that reduce flood risk.<br> <br>
