Government cash to boost south east growth area

The government has announced a £22 million investment into the London-Stansted-Cambridge-Peterborough growth area to support new infrastructure projects to aid the building of new sustainable communities. This includes better transport links, environmental improvements and reclaiming derelict land. Speaking at the launch of the Housing Quality Forum in Letchworth, the deputy prime minister John Prescott said: "The £22 million package I'm announcing today will unlock major brownfield areas, secure more than 2,000 new homes and fund masterplanning and site works across more than 20 potential developments."
