Gleeson poised for results “significantly ahead of expectations”

<p><span>Gleeson’s full year results are set to be “significantly ahead of expectations”, it said today, with homes sales up 10.4% on the previous year.</span></p><p><span>Issuing a trading update ahead of its results which are set to be announced on September 15, the low cost housebuilder and land promoter reiterated its announcement from July 1 that it had </span><a href="http://www.house-builder.co.uk/news/gleeson-achieves-2000-home-target">completed 2,000 home sales</a><span> during the year ending June 30 2022, achieving its medium term strategic objective.</span></p><p><span>During the second half of its year, Gleeson’s home sales lifted 24% on H2 2021 to 1,068 homes. And during the full year, the homes’ average selling price increased 14.7% to £167,300.</span></p><p><span>Strong selling price increases counteracted “significant” material and labour increases during the period, Gleeson said.</span></p><p><span>It has seen reservation rates over the past eight weeks rise 16% on the same period last year to 0.54 net reservations per week. This reflected “continued confidence” among its customers, it said.</span></p><p><span>The homes arm opened 23 new build sites, with the business starting the new financial year at 87 sites (June 30 2021: 81 build sites).
