Gleeson helps British military personnel onto property ladder

<p>Gleeson Homes has partnered with Forces Property Direct (FPD) to help British military personnel become home owners.</p> <p><span>Through the partnership, the housebuilder is offering the Forces Help to Buy scheme which provides funding for a 5% deposit, which can be used with the government’s Help to Buy initiative - providing a 20% loan - so that only a 75% mortgage is required, Gleeson said.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>The listed housebuilder said it had partnered with FPD “as it believes its customer offering is perfectly positioned to make home ownership a very comfortable option and alternative to renting”. Gleeson builds low cost homes for first time buyers across the Midlands and North of England. Its prices start at less than £100,000 for a two-bedroom starter home.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>James Thomson, Gleeson’s ceo, said: “This scheme fits perfectly with the Gleeson model and I will be delighted if we can help armed forces personnel find their first home.
