Gleeson achieves 2,000-home target

<p><span>Low-cost housebuilder Gleeson has announced that it has achieved its medium term strategic target of doubling home sales to 2,000 homes during the year ending 30 June 2022.</span></p> <p><span>Issuing a short statement today (July 1), the company said it would provide more detail on meeting its goal and on other developments on July 11, the day of its scheduled trading update statement.</span></p> <p><span>In April, Gleeson revealed that </span><span>Graham Prothero, currently chief operating officer of Vistry Group, would become <a href="https://www.house-builder.co.uk/news/new-ceo-gleeson">chief executive of the business</a> from January 1 2023. He replaces James Thomson who is stepping down after three years - Thomson will become a non-executive director of Gleeson.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>In May, Gleeson appointed </span><a href="https://www.house-builder.co.uk/news/gleeson-appoints-first-sustainability-manager">Matthew Gibb to the newly created role of group sustainability manager</a><span>. Gibb is working closely with internal and external stakeholders at Gleeson to accelerate the implementation of the company’s sustainability priorities, strategy and approach.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>Gleeson has also committed to the </span><a href="https://www.house-builder.co.uk/news/housebuilders-sign-govs-building-safety-pledge">government’s building safety pledge</a><span> as announced in April.
