Get the pre-planning right – John Laing md

“Laing Partnership was always innovative,” md Peter Taylor told Housebuilder. “Even when it wasn’t the fashion to look at MMC, as a developer we always wanted to look at speed of construction.” <p></p><p>Having founded Prime – Promoting Realistic Innovation Methods Expertise – in 2002, you would expect John Laing Partnership (JLP) to have some strong views on MMC. </p><p>“We’re very positive about MMC,” said Taylor. “We’ve had good and bad experiences, and the bad ones are normally ones where we haven’t been involved from the start.” The sum of these experiences can be seen in JLP’s successful schemes, such as the first full-scale use of H+H Celcon’s Jamera System in the UK for the Bethnal Green and Victoria Park Housing Association. </p><p>Taylor is convinced that people will want to live in homes constructed using MMC. “The public likes brick but there are ways to use it. We can provide a quality home using MMC, and that’s what people want. I don’t see a resistance as long as people know it will last as long as traditional homes.” </p><p>The key, said Taylor, is to get the “pre-planning” right.
