Housebuilders and other bodies who will be required to provide home information packs (HIPs) should start providing them now, housing minister Yvette Cooper has warned. Speaking at the Law Society’s Property Section annual conference, Cooper said: “We have announced out intention to have a dry run. We need to encourage more to start the process now rather than when the implementation date comes.” She added: “The idea is to do it as a six month period. We have to timetable for early 2007.” Draft regulations on HIPs are due out next week.
