Fund boost for housing

Fourteen major schemes have been shortlisted for a share of the £474 million Local Infrastructure Fund which is aimed at bringing forward 38,000 new homes, The fund will help to deliver locally supported large scale housing schemes of more than 1,500 homes which need a boost. The selected projects, announced by housing minister Mark Prisk, include Barratt's Chilmington Green in Ashford, Kent, Taylor Wimpey's East Anton Farm in Andover and Crest Nicholson's Kilnwood Vale. "This government is determined to get Britain building again," Prisk said. "That's why we are working with local housing schemes that have their plans in place, but need help to move forward."
