Foam sealant tapes

Peter Thompson, UK general manager of sealants company Iso-Chemie, discusses the importance of foam tapes: “Foam tapes can seal joints ranging in width from 1mm to 42mm and are usually foam substrates which have been impregnated with acrylics and fire inhibiting additives according to the application. They are compressed, rolled and cut to the appropriate dimension ready for insertion into the formed gap between the brickwork and window or door frame. “ Quick-to-install, the rolls are unwound and immediately inserted into the joint. Foam sealing strips do not rely on adhesion to seal the joint, but expand in-situ to hold firm under compression in the gap.” <br>
