Exhibition cuts through Thames Gateway hype

<p>The masterplan for Convoys Wharf in Deptford by Richard Rogers Partnership (pictured) is featured in the exhibition Turning the Tide: Regenerating London’s Thames Gateway.</p> <p>The New London Architecture show, which runs until September 2 at The Building Centre in central London, looks at “who’s involved, what they are doing and where, as well as what they ought to be doing.”</p> <p>It seeks to answer the cutting questions: “What is the Thames Gateway? What is it all about? We all know the 2012 Olympics will kick-start the regeneration of east London, but what is happening now? Is it too long on speeches, reports and wishful thinking, but too short on substance?”</p> <p>Free talks taking place during August feature Ros Dunn, director of the DCLG’s Thames Gateway strategy division, David Lunts of the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Eric Sorensen, chief executive of the Thames Gateway London Partnership.</p>
