A new housebuilder headed by ex-Bloor ceo Adrian Bloor has received a “significant” strategic investment from two private firms.
HarperCrewe, established in 2022, has announced the backing from TPG Angelo Gordon and Ridgeback Group which it will use to grow its existing landbank and increase its homes delivery “at pace”.
The company said that the two investors’ involvement marked an expansion in their focus on the UK residential sector. Previously, the pair have acquired nine UK Build to Rent assets with a gross development value of more than £800 million.
Bloor’s Warwick-based business has built an initial land portfolio of more than 3,000 plots over the past two years. It has taken a partnership approach to building, involving national landowners, corporates and landed estates, including the 88,000-acre Welbeck Estate, Duchy of Lancaster and Bathurst.
HarperCrewe eventually wishes to deliver more than 1,000 homes per annum in a mix of tenures – sale, rental and affordable housing. All homes will target “ultra-sustainable” EPC ratings of A.
The housebuilder has recently opened a Nottingham office and intends to open other regional offices according to its “continued expansion over time”.
