Edgemere interlocking slate and Cedral Weatherboard enhance new housing scheme

Marley Eternit’s Edgemere interlocking slate and fibre cement Cedral Weatherboard cladding have been specified by John McCall Architects to create a bespoke look for each of the 65 low-rise affordable family homes at its new development in Frodsham, Cheshire. <br> <br> Richard King, who led the design team at John McCall, comments: “We designed the overall scheme based upon a simple standard house type and this then provided us with the basis to enhance the development through the specification of a higher quality product such as the Edgemere roof tile.” <br> <br> In addition to the design solutions delivered by the Edgemere interlocking slate, the scheme’s vision was also supported by the Cedral Weatherboard used to externally clad the properties. Marley explains that the weatherboard combines the benefit of a maintenance-free external wall covering solution, along with the colour and texture variation choices the design team were seeking to ensure the individuality of each property across the suburban residential scheme was not compromised.<br> <br>
