<b><b>Jeremy Gates talks to John Allan, the new managing director of Cala Homes South, about his plans for the division</b></b><br><b>Since Cala Homes proudly took itself back into private ownership two years ago, the firm has resembled the All Blacks&’ forwards in a rugby scrum: everything going on inside is well organised and smoothly executed, but it is rather difficult to see the ball.</b><br><b><b>Fine tuning</b></b><br>Even a perfectly-drilled mafia of highly ambitious Scottish accountants, however, recognises that it is occasionally advisable to raise one&’s profile. John Allan, who joined Cala 15 years ago to specialise in land acquisition, is taking over the southern operation to gently fine-tune his company&’s strategy around the M25.<p></p><p>&“For the first two years after the management buyout,&” he says, &“it was critical that we met our targets and delivered them to the bank.
