<p><span>Dandara has launched a division to cover south, west and east Wales, adding to its presence in southern England, Scotland, Jersey and the Isle of Man.</span></p> <p><span>Under its new region, the independent housebuilder said that it would work with the Welsh government to help towards its “ambitious target” of delivering 20,000 new social homes over the next five years.</span></p> <p><span>Dandara added that the new Wales and West division, headquartered in the Cardiff Gate Business Park, would focus strongly on creating local jobs. Its managing director Martin Smith, previously md of Persimmon Homes East Wales, is from nearby Pontypridd, with other members of the management team from the local area.</span></p> <p><span>The new division, according to Dandara, has an estimated £16 million portfolio of projects in its pipeline, set to produce more than 2,000 homes.
