Dame Judith Hackitt, who headed up the independent review of Building Regulations and fire safety following the Grenfell Tower fire last June, will address the housebuilding industry at the Home Builders Federation's annual Technical Conference in September.
Dame Judith will speak on the findings of the review which was published last month, having found that the current system of Building Regulations and fire safety is unfit for purpose and recommending the establishment of a new regulatory framework for building safety to address weaknesses in the system.
Also speaking at the conference, which will be held in Birmingham on Wednesday September 12, will be Katy Read, policy lead - energy performance of homes at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy who will give an update on the clean growth strategy report, and Lucy Thomas, chief scientist at RSK who will look at contaminated land issues and recent changes to landfill taxation.
The HBF Technical Conference is set to address the multitude of issues facing the housebuilding industry in what are fast changing times in terms of regulation affecting new homes.
