Countryside makes changes to “raise game”

<p>Countryside has found it needs to “raise its game” in certain areas of its business following a review of its site operations. The company is now undertaking cost reduction measures after noting that it had failed to manage its expansion plans and it is considering “all options” with its timber frame facilities after discovering “excess manufacturing capacity”. </p> <p>Issuing an update following ten weeks of reviewing its 128 operational sites, the partnerships housebuilder said that it had identified issues with its Midlands and North regions “that have had an adverse impact on performance”. </p> <p>It stated that it had “failed to realise the benefits” of its 2018 acquisition of Westleigh, a partnerships housebuilder based in Leicester. It noted low project margins under the subsequently formed operations and projects that were not completed to Countryside’s usual “high standards”.</p> <p>Countryside’s North region had experienced “significant operational challenges”. On a number of sites in the area, the housebuilder pointed to “<span class="bc"><span>the failure of some groundworkers, timber frame and roofing contractors to deliver to the required quality and in the required timeframe”.
