Contemporary style in a gothic setting

Vicaima's Oak Cross Directional doors were what In-Residence GB chose in its redevelopment of exclusive homes within the walled grounds of the Grade II listed gothic Chew Magna Manor estate, near Bristol.<br> <br> The sensitive redevelopment comprised the conversion of several listed buildings – a Grade II listed cottage and coach house and five three and four-bedroom listed homes – within the walled garden development. Many original features, including the cloisters and arched windows, have been retained and every building component was carefully selected for its style, quality and performance.<br> <br> 80 of Vicaima's American White Oak Cross Directional doors were used on the project, each with flush beads and metallic inlays and some with DFG37 opaque glazed openings. All doors were set within oak faced frames.<br> <br> With the first phase of the project now completed, the Grade II listed manor house itself is next in line to receive In-Residence's kid glove treatment.
