<p>A penchant for mock Tudor has reached China’s shores, where Thames Town is under construction in Shanghai. One of several satellite townships being established by government in a bid to lure residents away from the city centre, it offers prospective buyers the chance to “taste the authentic British style of a small town.”</p> <p>Masterplanned by WS Atkins, Thames Town boasts a chip shop, cathedral, village green and mock Tudor pub selling real ale. Regency and Edwardian homes are bordered by privet hedges and manicured lawns.</p>
