Cala’s profit and sales down

<p>Cala Homes saw its pre-tax profit and home sales fall during its half year, results from parent company Legal &amp; General revealed today (August 15).</p> <p>For the six months to June 30 2023, the housebuilder’s pre-tax profit was £73 million against the £98 million achieved during the same period in 2022. It sold 1,428 units compared to last year’s 1,527.</p> <p>Cala’s residential house sale revenue remained the same as H1 2022 at £619 million. L&amp;G, who said that the housebuilder had “continued to perform well over H1 2023 in the face of a challenging market”, stated that reservations on private units stood at 75% of the full year, “providing confidence in the delivery of Cala’s FY 2023 targets”. </p> <p>In 2022, Cala achieved a 9% revenue lift on 2021 to £1.36 billion. But forward sales were impacted by the upheavals of Q4 2022. <a href="http://www.house-builder.co.uk/news/calas-revenue-climbs-9">Reporting its full year results in January</a>, Cala noted that 2023 would be tough, with cost-of-living pressures and increases in mortgage rates.</p> <p><span>L&amp;G said it was continuing to “scale up delivery” across its multi-tenure housing platform. </span></p> <p><span><a href="http://www.house-builder.co.uk/news/lg-reduce-activity-modular-homes-factory">But this follows the decision in May to cease production in its modular factory under the Legal &amp; …
