Cala Group has announced Michael Rice as its new chief financial officer.
Rice, who took his post at the end of June, brings a wealth of financial and strategic expertise to Cala. He has a strong track record in leading finance teams in growing organisations and the homebuilding sector.
He was most recently cfo of Irish housebuilder Glenveagh Properties which he joined in 2017. Rice brought the company from a 50-employee start up to a major operation employing around 650 people that generated €900 million in revenue last year.
He began his career at KPMG in Ireland before moving to the housebuilding industry, becoming Kingspan Group’s group financial controller in 2015. Here, he played a central role in all financial aspects of Kingspan’s growth strategy.
Cala Group has grown over the years to an enterprise that employs more than 1,300 people across ten offices and has around 80 live developments at any time.
The housebuilder was acquired by global investment firm Sixth Street and pan-European investor Patron Capital in October. This has provided a platform for Cala’s strategic growth across Scotland, the south of England and the West Midlands.
