Bewley reports “another record year”

<p>Bewley has announced another “record” year of financial results, reporting a turnover of £170.4 million and profitability of £36 million, both up on the previous year.</p> <p>During its financial year ending September 30 3022, the SME “achieved many significant milestones,” it said, with turnover rising from 2021’s £156 million, which was up on the previous year’s Covid-hit £84.4 million. Profit in 2022 nudged up from 2021’s £34.4 million.</p> <p>Bewley’s gross margin for 2022 was 21.2%, slightly down on the previous year’s <span>22% which had been a “new high,” the business said last year. </span>Sales completions in 2022 totalled 437.<span></span></p> <p>The housebuilder said that during the year, it had seen “excellent demand” for its Garden Village collection of homes in the Home Counties. It had also enjoyed “considerable” success with acquiring strategic land, secured under option agreements.
