Berkeley scoops multiple honours at CCS Awards

<p><span>Berkeley Group has won 27 accolades at the 2019 Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) Awards.</span></p> <p><span>The Considerate Constructors Scheme was created by the construction industry to improve its image, with companies voluntarily registering with the Scheme and agreeing to abide by its Code of Considerate Practice.</span></p> <p><span>Berkeley’s achievements this year include the UK’s Most Considerate Site award for One Blackfriars in London, and a Most Considerate Site Runner Up gong for South Quay Plaza, south east London. The remaining wins were across the categories of Gold, Silver and Bronze.</span></p> <p><span>With Berkeley registering 57 sites with the CCS scheme over the past year, just under half received awards “for the high standards of care they show towards their local community, environment and workforce,” the group said.</span></p> <p><span>Berkeley achieved an average CCS site score of 43 out of 50, the fourth highest out of all CCS Partners, it said, “and by far the best performance from a major developer with high numbers of registered sites”. The average CCS score across the country in the past year was 36.27.</span></p> <p><span>Sites registered with the CCS are visited and independently assessed against the Code of Considerate Practice, Berkeley explained.
