BECG launches Neurodiversity in Planning toolkit

<p> </p> <p>BECG has launched a best practice toolkit for engaging with neurodivergent people on the built environment.</p> <p><span>The communications consultancy for the built environment has worked with Neurodiversity in Planning and a working group of industry professionals to produce the toolkit, focusing on consulting with those individuals that are “neurodivergent”, representing more than 15% of the UK’s population.</span></p> <p><span>Examples of neurological conditions include Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and Dyspraxia. BECG explained that the term Neurodiversity means the diversity of all human brains.</span></p> <p><span>Those who are neurodivergent could experience challenges and opportunities in an engagement situation, “which may result in neurodivergent people being excluded from the planning process,” BECG explained.</span></p> <p><span>Its </span><a href="https://becg.com/neurodiversity/?utm_source=Press&amp;utm_medium=PR&amp;utm_campaign=Toolkit">Neurodiversity in Planning toolkit</a><span> features seven principles to make planning consultations accessible to a neurodiverse audience.
