Barratt Redrow’s completions drop

Barratt Redrow’s home completions fell 7.8% during the year to June 2025, with the merged housebuilder also reporting legacy property liabilities totalling £248 million during the period.

During the 52 weeks ending June 29 2025, the housebuilder’s completions totalled 16,565 against the aggregated comparable of 17,972 in 2024.

In a trading update, the business said the drop – which took the numbers below the previously guided range of 16,800 to 17,200 homes – was “mainly” due to receiving fewer international and investor completions than anticipated in its London businesses.

But it added that a stronger order book into the second half of the year coupled with “solid reservation rates” limited the decline in completions in H2 FY 2025 to 4.7%. The private average selling price for the year rose 2.8% to around £380,000.

Despite the decline in completions, Barratt Redrow said its adjusted pre-tax profit remained in line with expectations of £582.6 million (also including before Redrow purchase price allocation).

The merged housebuilder’s legacy property liabilities of £248 million consist of legacy property charges of £98 million covering the second half of the year. These include £80 million relating to fire safety issues at a scheme involving …
