Barratt has maintained its position as Britain's biggest housebuilder in this year’s Top 75 list revealed exclusively in the new Housing Market Intelligence report and Housebuilder.<br> <br> <br> Although Barratt's turnover in the period analysed dropped slightly to £2 billion, it still stands significantly ahead of the number two firm, Taylor Wimpey, which achieved turnover of £1.74 billion.<br> <br> <br> The Top 75 ranks the housebuilders by seven criteria and the 2011 table records the results for year ending 2010. In that period Barratt was the only housebuilder to build more than 10,000 homes, at 11,377, as TaylorWimpey slipped down to 9,962.<br> <br> <br> The top six housebuilders in 2011 were the same as last year, with Persimmon third followed by Bellway, Berkeley and Galliford Try.
