Barratt chooses new cfo

<p><span>Barratt has appointed Mike Scott as its new chief financial officer and executive director.</span></p> <p><span>The date Scott will join the volume housebuilder is yet to be determined. He is currently chief financial officer of Countryside, joining the business in 2014 as group financial controller. In this time, he has overseen the company’s significant growth, including its IPO in 2016 and acquisition of Westleigh Homes in 2018.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>Before his tenure at Countryside, Scott, a chartered accountant, held various senior finance positions at J Sainsbury from 2010 to 2014. He was latterly head of its investor relations.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>His appointment follows the announcement in March of current cfo Jessica White’s departure. She will step down from the board on June 30, after which group ceo David Thomas will cover the finance function temporarily.</span></p><p></p> <p>Thomas was Barratt’s cfo for six years until July 2015. He will be backed by group operations financial controller John Flynn, and Jonathan Rumble, group financial controller.</p> <p>Barratt said Scott’s start date would be announced in “due course”. </p> <p><span>Chairman John Allan said: “Mike has a deep understanding of the housebuilding industry and we are delighted that he has agreed to bring his very relevant financial and operational expertise to …
