<p>Aster Group has built its “highest ever” total number of properties, it said today (May 22), as it revealed details of its end of year results.</p> <p><span>The housing association, building in the south of England and London, said that during the year to the end of March 2023, it built 1,312 new properties, up on the </span><span>939</span><span> of the previous year. Last year, it </span><a href="http://www.house-builder.co.uk/news/aster-sets-record-housebuilding-target">set its highest ever housebuilding target for a single year of more than 1,300 homes over the following 12 months.</a></p><p></p> <p><span>Of the total for 2022/23, Aster built </span><span>698 homes for affordable and social rent, 466 shared ownership properties, 17 homes for market rent and 131 through its joint venture with Vistry Homes. It said it delivered 395 of the total number through its own land-led programme.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>The land-led programme currently includes a scheme of 100% affordable housing within Dorchester’s Brewery Square complex in Dorset which is under construction.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>During the reported year, the organisation opened Grace House, a large affordable apartment scheme for over 55s in St John’s Wood, and 770 homes across Devon, Hampshire, Sussex and Dorset.</span></p><p></p> <p><span>The organisation hailed 2022/23 as its “most productive” year to date in the capital.
