Aster Group has made its “highest ever” annual investment in new homes, committing nearly £600 million in its building programme over the next two years.
The housing association’s allocated £585 million includes a planned £295 million investment in the year to the end of March 2025, its “largest ever” annual build programme, it said.
This means it has the capacity, it estimates, to deliver just under 2,300 new homes by the end of March 2026.
Aster’s programme of works includes around 300 homes a year, which is funded by its strategic partnership with Homes England. It is also constructing a net zero carbon development of 120 homes in Sussex in a joint venture with Thakeham. Aster said this scheme was expected to be the largest of its kind in the area.
The organisation manages more than 37,000 homes across London and the south of England.
It reports to be a leading housing association partner of community land trust (CLT) projects. CLTs are a form of community-led housing.
