Alok Sharma is new housing and planning minister

Alok Sharma, MP for Reading West, has been appointed the new housing and planning minister, replacing Gavin Barwell who lost his seat at last week's election. Sharma was previously a minister at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The 49 year old MP is a qualified accountant and former banker.
