Allison Homes appoints new chief operating officer

<p>Allison Homes has appointed Darren Jones as its chief operating officer.</p> <p>Jones has enjoyed a long career in housebuilding, beginning as an apprentice carpenter and joiner in London in 1985. He progressed through site management and production management roles with companies including Bryant Homes, Gleeson Homes and Persimmon Homes.</p> <p>From 2007 to 2013 he was chairman of Persimmon’s southern region, before moving to divisional managing director of Miller Homes where he grew the Midlands and South businesses. Here, he helped adopt a plc-style management structure to improve the housebuilder’s business focus and asset utilisation, resulting in a significant improvement in its financial performance. </p> <p>Jones will have a “key role” in driving forward Allison Homes’ growth strategy, it said. In August, the business secured £120 million refinancing to help deliver its goal of 2,000 homes a year by 2025. </p> <p>John Anderson, Allison Homes’ group ceo said: “We’re delighted that Darren has chosen Allison Homes.
