Affordable Homes Programme contracts hit £1 billion mark

National housing and regeneration body, the Homes and Communities Agency. (HCA) last month (November) reached a key milestone in its £1.8 billion Affordable Homes Programme, having now agreed contracts for more than £1bn worth of funding*, which are expected to deliver 61,145 affordable homes across the country by March 2015. The news will be welcomed by the industry in the light of recent figures which showed a collapse of affordable homes provision in 2011. <br> <br> The latest registered providers to sign contracts with the HCA include: Affinity Sutton, The Guinness Trust, and London and Quadrant Housing Trust. Including the 14 from November, 74 contracts have been signed with the HCA. These include: Sanctuary Housing Group – £89 million; Affinity Sutton – £65 million; Notting Hill Housing Trust –£58million; The Guinness Trust –£52 million; Orbit –£46 million; Great Places Housing Group –£40 million; Midland Heart –£39 million; Swan Housing Association –£38 million; Catalyst Housing –£33 million; Network Housing Group –£33 million; Accord –£30 million.<br> <br> This announcement follows recent confirmation that the Agency agreed its biggest contract for the Affordable Homes Programme, with Sanctuary Housing Group set to benefit from £90 million of funding to deliver almost 3,700 Affordable Rent …
