SIG360, the technical centre of national distributor SIG Insulation, has helped Yorkshire-based self-builder Jason Scotter to build a dream energy efficient home for his family that combines excellent thermal fabric performance with a selection of renewable technologies.
By following SIG360's guidance, Jason was able to achieve a rare A-rated energy performance certificate for the property, reflecting its low running costs.
Having recommended a fabric-first approach, SIG360 specified and supplied a combination of high performance insulation products, meaning there was no need for heating on the first floor of the house. The building's thermal efficiency was complemented with energy saving renewable technologies including solar panels, an air source heat pump, and a rainwater harvesting system.Â
