HBMedia Sustainable New Homes and Sound Insulation Conference - In association with Building Performance Centre
Building Regulations and Planning legislation are increasingly referring to sound and noise related issues for new build homes. Whether it is Part E (England and Wales) or Section 5 (Scotland) or the future PPS24 or the future Code for Sustainable New Homes housebuilders, architects, technical directors, building control and many other professions require to know how best to design, plan, monitor and develop their company or organisation towards these challenges.
With approximately 70% of new build homes on brown field sites, of which many may be near various noise sources, good site layout and addressing early the planning and noise requirements can increase the number of plots per site and overall increase the site and house values.
In addition, developers and technical directors must be aware of the potential impact on land values, future planning issues and façade design requirements that are likely to impact on their new home developments as a result of the on-going UK noise maps and future Government transport plans.
