Professor Michael Edwards

Professor Michael Edwards studied economics and statistics at Oxford (PPE), then planning at UCL from 1964. He worked in Nathaniel Lichfield's practice, doing most of the economic inputs to the Plan for Milton Keynes and learning the joys and hazards of working in a multi-disciplinary team. He became a lecturer in the Bartlett School at UCL in 1969, where he has enjoyed working ever since. Since the creation of the GLA in 2000 he has been involved in all the EiPs on successive London Plans, working with the network of community groups JustSpace.org.uk . He blogs at michaeledwards.org.uk (where his publications can also be downloaded) and is active on Twitter as @michaellondonsf . His paper on housing and land over the next 45 years, commissioned by the government Foresight project on the future of UK cities, is a free download at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/future-of-cities-land-rent-and-housing-in-uk-cities
