Dame Kate Barker

Dame Kate Barker chaired major government reviews of housing and planning in the mid-2000s. In 20014 she published ‘Housing: Where’s the Plan’. Her interest in housing continued, and she has served as an NED at the Yorkshire Building Society and for Taylor Wimpey plc.

She is presently chair of the trustee board at the Universities Superannuation Scheme, and also chairs the Governing Council of the Productivity Institute. She is a Church Commissioner. From 2017-20 she was a member of the National Infrastructure Commission and was a member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee from 2001-2010.
