Adrian Belton

Adrian Belton is CEO of CITB. In a non-executive capacity, he is a lay member of the Council of the University of Sheffield, an elected member of the Board of the Association of Chief Executives (ACE), and was previously Chair of the Board of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
Prior to joining CITB in 2014, Adrian was CEO of the Food and Environment Research Agency (FERA) leading the four way merger to create it, and then leading it to a recently announced Joint Venture between Government, Capita, and Newcastle University. Prior to that his career spanned both the private and private sectors, holding senior executive roles with Barclays PLC, Bradford & Bingley PLC, Nottingham City Council, and Natural England. Away from work, Adrian maintains a keen interest in cycling, running and mountaineering, and a number of his long distance mountain running endurance records still stand 25 years on. He also lives in perpetual hope, being a Sheffield Wednesday season ticket holder.
