Controversy over Poundbury extension

Residents are aghast at proposals to extend the village at a density of 122 dwellings per hectare. The £50 million development plans by Woodpecker Properties include a five-storey apartment building and retail premises. Residents have branded the plans “ridiculous and not in keeping with the area,” while councillors have called them “overpowering.”
