Imtiaz Farookhi joined NHBC as Chief Executive in April 1997.  He was previously Chief Executive of Leicester City Council where he led the successful regeneration of the city centre.  Until recently, he served on the national Learning and Skills Council, where he was prominent on skills and further education reform, and was a founder board member of the Environment Agency. He currently serves as a member of the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation and a member of Governing Board of the British Board of Agrément (BBA).
